Natural beauty: My favourite new discoveries of 2018

By | January 15, 2019

Last year I discovered many new wonderful green beauty products and thought to share my top discoveries with my readers as they may come handy, especially if you are looking to buy some new natural products. So here are some of the new beauty products that I tried in 2018 and thought they were amazing. I highly recommend you give them a go.

FACE CLEANSERS

I like to have a dedicated face wash or cleanser for my face as I feel my face needs slightly different treatment from the rest of the body, especially with my skin being prone to breakouts. I still use a creamy soap bar sometimes but I normally use a face wash/cleanser suitable for my skin type (combination).

Odylique Lemon & Tea Tree Purifying Wash

Last year it was the first time I tried Odylique Lemon & Tea Tree Purifying Wash and thought it was really good. Many green bloggers agree with me on this.

Odylique’s face wash has a pleasant lemony scent and cleanses the skin incredibly well. It really goes deep into the pores, removing any grime and dirt perfectly. It contains rehydrating vitamin-rich extra virgin olive oil and moisturising aloe vera so it’s totally non-drying to the skin. It’s especially suitable for blemish-prone skin as it also contains antibacterial tea tree and calming lavender. It’s vegan and certified organic.

Antipodes Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser

The other cleanser that I loved was from Antipodes – Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser.

Antipodes are a luxury brand who believe in natural skincare with scientific validation so their products contain ingredients which are actually proven to be effective on the skin.

The Antipodes Skin Brightening Gel Cleanser is suitable for oily and blemish-prone skin and contains anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory manuka honey which helps to eliminate inflammation and redness of acne breakouts, cysts, and pimples.

The cleanser leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft after use. It’s good at removing make-up but you need to make sure you massage it really well into the skin. You can read my full review here and more reviews on LoveLula here.

MOISTURISERS

I discovered some wonderful new natural face moisturisers in 2018. I still cannot decide which one is my favourite as they are all good.

Esse Probiotic Skincare Hydro Moisturiser

esse probiotic skincare hydro moisturiser

Hydro Moisturiser from Esse Probiotic Skincare is perfect for oily and combination skin as it’s totally non-greasy. It absorbs quickly and easily so it’s perfect to use under the make-up. What I really love about this moisturiser is that it actually helps to reduce breakouts and heal any irritations. It’s a perfect summer moisturiser for me which is also anti-ageing. You can read my full review here or get it on LoveLula here.

Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream

I started using Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream from Antipodes in December and if Esse’s Hydro Moisturiser is perfect for summer, this one is perfect for winter. I love how hydrating it is. It’s great for my combination skin which can get a bit dry in winter. It protects my skin really well and I also noticed that my fine lines appear less visible since I’ve been using it. I am yet to write a full review of this face cream on my blog but meanwhile you can check this moisturiser’s reviews on LoveLula.

PHB Ethical Beauty Anti-Ageing Moisturiser with Monoi Oil and Gardenia

phb antiageing moisturiser - texture

I loved Anti-Ageing Moisturiser from PHB Ethical Beauty as it’s so good at reducing the appearance of fine lines.

PHB Anti-Ageing Moisturiser is suitable for all skin types but especially for dry, combination and more mature types. That’s because it’s really nourishing, full of essential vitamins, antioxidants and omegas which help to combat any dry patches. Its gentle formula is also suitable for sensitive skin. SHAMPOOS

I have fine, long hair which gets greasy really quickly so I am always looking to try new shampoos to see whether I can find anything better than what I already tried. I also love using shampoos which naturally highlight my dark blond hair although this may not necessarily help with the oiliness. Anyway, in 2018 I discovered some new natural shampoos suitable for my hair type that I would be happy to re-purchase.

Urtekram Organic Chamomile Shampoo

urtekram camomile shampoo for blond hair

I loved how well Urtekram Chamomile Shampoo lightened my hair. It really does work and some people actually thought that I coloured my hair when using this shampoo. It’s an amazing shampoo which I will definitely use again in the future. It may not do much for my oily scalp but it makes my hair looks amazing so big thumbs up. You can get it from Amazon or Ecco Verde.

Green People Lavender & Rosemary Shampoo

green people shampoo oily hair

I loved Green People Lavender & Rosemary Shampoo as it’s really good at soothing the scalp and it really helps with any itchiness. It’s suitable for normal/oily hair and it’s ultra mild. The shampoo is really concentrated so a 200ml tub will last you for a while as you only need a small amount for one application. My full review is here. Also, check it out on LoveLula here.

Essentially Nature Organic Rebalance Shampoo

I’ve previously tried a conditioner from Essentially Nature but I didn’t love it as it wasn’t detangling enough for my hair. However, I totally love their Organic Rebalance Shampoo. It’s perfect for oily hair and it really helps to keep it fresh for longer. It smells lovely and foams well. A great natural shampoo which I highly recommend. Get it on LoveLula here >
